Brian Berger, Trusted Computing Group Marketing Work Group Chairperson and Executive Wave Systems Vice President Marketing and Sales
Brian Berger is an executive vice president for Wave Systems Corp., reporting to the CEO. He manages the business, strategy and marketing functions that include product management, product positioning, marketing and sales direction for the company.
As a Wave representative to the organization, Brian is an elected representative to the TCG board of directors and also chairs the Trusted Computing Group’s marketing work group, where he leads the development of strategy and implementation of the organization’s marketing and communications programs He has led efforts to reposition the organization’s messages and programs to focus on the critical IT audience Under his leadership, the group will conduct more than dozen educational events this year and will participate in numerous industry conferences and events where thousands of potential users and buyers will hear about Trusted Computing. Brian also has led efforts to expand the advisory board and to solicit key market research.
Brian has been involved in security products for a number of years including work with embedded hardware, client/server applications, PKI and biometrics.  He has worked in the computer industry for 20 years and has held several senior level positions in multinational companies. Brian holds two patents and has two pending patents for security products and commerce transactions capabilities using security technology. Brian has a bachelors of arts degree from California State University, Northridge and attended Harvard Business School, Executive Education.

 

Paul Miller, Managing Director, Mobile Security, Symantec Corp.
Paul Miller, Senior Director of Mobile and Wireless at Symantec Corp., leads the company’s mobile client security strategy and delivery as well as the company’s overall vision for mobile and wireless as it pertains to the enterprise and consumer markets Miller’s background in the mobile and security industries spans close to 15 years.
Prior to joining Symantec, Miller spent five years at Gemplus leading the identity strategy using mobile infrastructure to combat identity fraud, particularly for the enterprise and financial markets.  Miller also spent two years with GTE Cybertrust working on PKI-based identity and mobile commerce and five years with Rainbow Technologies handling the copy protection, license management and Digital Rights Management product lines.
Miller is a contributing author of two books discussing the business modeling of combining mobile and identity services.  He also holds two patents with former colleagues, one for server-based DRM and the other for the bulk issuance of crypto identity tokens.
Miller often speaks on security and identity services, including consumer and enterprise adoption strategies for new technologies.  He has served as a Radicchio founding board member, co-chair of Liberty Alliance’s mobile business group, chair of Liberty’s strong authentication effort and a board member for Global Chipcard Alliance.  Miller holds a bachelor of computer science degree from University of Colorado.

Kianoosh Naghshineh, Chelsio Communications, CEO and President
Kianoosh Naghshineh brings more than 20 years of engineering and management experience in systems and networking to his role as CEO and president of Chelsio Communications. Before founding Chelsio, Kianoosh was CEO and president of ASIC Designers, Inc., an intellectual property firm providing silicon cores for communications-systems markets. Prior to that, Kianoosh was one of the primary architects of the Origin supercomputer at Silicon Graphics. Prior to SGI, Kianoosh held a variety of product engineering and analog and digital circuit design positions in fiber distributed data interface (FDDI) networking design (bipolar/cmos) at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
Kianoosh holds a B.S.E.E. from Cornell University and an M.S.E.E. from Stanford University. He currently holds 10 patents in analog and digital circuit design, computer architecture, networking and host interfaces.

 

Sara Santarelli, CIO Security, Network Security Services, Verizon Business
In her present role as Chief Information Security Officer for Verizon Business, Sara Santarelli oversees several security organizations including the Managed Security Solutions, which provides customer-facing security support for Internet managed firewalls and router security; Internet abuse; and Government Security services. 
Santarelli also is responsible for the integrity of the Verizon Business network and information systems, which cover prevention, detection and response to security incidents. Under her direction, the Managed Security Solutions organization is responsible for 7 x 24 service delivery to Verizon Business Managed Security customers throughout the world who have more than 2,900 managed devices. This security organization daily monitors 60 million security events and continuously scans 1.6 million IP addresses for vulnerabilities.
Santarelli also leads organizations that provide security support for Internet infrastructure, secure customer traffic-bearing network elements and network systems support and centralized access; manage user IDs for midrange and mainframe systems, drive mainframe and midrange security compliance through security standards and tracking of security audits.
In her role at Verizon Business, Santarelli works directly with the Department of Homeland Security and state agencies and organizations as well as industry organizations to assure the company’s coordination with state and federal initiatives. Santarelli participates in numerous state and industry organizations including the Telecommunications Sector of the New York State Public/Private Sector Security Workgroup. She also is a member of Verizon Business’ Business Continuance and Emergency Management Team and the company’s Network Security Incident Response Team (NSIRT).
Under Santarelli’s direction, the company received two National information Security Leadership Awards including one for the company’s effective defense against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and the second award for the best achievement by an ISP in fighting damage from network worm attacks.
She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Brenau College. Santarelli is an active member of the American Heart Association. She resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

John T. Shultz, Executive Director – Product Management, Managed Network Services, Verizon Business
John Shultz is currently the executive director of product management for the Verizon Business portfolio of managed network and managed security services, including product lines for wide-and local-area network management, Internet telephony, remote access, managed security solutions, professional services and expense management.  Verizon Business manages over 3,500 customer networks and 240,000 devices in 142 countries around the world, including 54 percent of the Fortune 100 and 34 percent of the Fortune 500.  In this capacity, Mr. Shultz is responsible for the coordination of product development, marketing operations and marketing communications to support one of the fastest growing segments of Verizon Business.
Prior to the creation of Verizon Business in January, Mr. Shultz held a similar position with MCI, Inc.  Before joining MCI in 2003, Mr. Shultz served as the director of complex solutions, professional services and converged solutions at Qwest Communications, leading an overlay sales team responsible for the development of network management, hosting, call center and non-standard technical solutions for the company’s largest enterprise customers.
In 1997, Mr. Shultz was a founder of Allied Riser Communications, a provider of IP-based first-mile communications services to small- and medium-sized businesses in major U.S. metropolitan areas.  While at Allied Riser Communications, Mr. Shultz served as the director of product management and network operations.  Before that, Mr. Shultz was the vice president of systems and network management for The Associates, a Las Colinas, Texas, based financial services company.  Prior to that, Mr. Shultz was a founder and principle systems architect for Inacom Professional Services.  Mr. Shultz began his career at Texas Instruments, holding a variety of positions in systems, network and mainframe management.
Mr. Shultz holds a bachelor of business administration in management information systems from Texas A&M University. Mr. Shultz resides in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

 

Greg Spector, CMO & Co-Founder, Rebtel
Greg brings a wealth of experience, creativity, approachability, enthusiasm and competitiveness to Rebtel’s marketing team. Before joining Rebtel, Greg was the president and chief executive officer of Blanc & Otus (B&O), a WPP international technology public relations firm. In that role, Greg was responsible for client services, operations, human resources, and financial performance worldwide. He also served as the general manager of the company's flagship office in San Francisco, most recently working with clients including Hitachi Data Systems, Blu-ray Disc Association, Facebook and cFares. Greg's client work at B&O spanned from Global 2000 leaders Sony and HP, to high growth phenomena E.piphany, Ariba and Openwave, as well as burgeoning start-ups TiVo and Hotwire.
Prior to joining B&O in May 2000, Greg was president of GCI Group's San Francisco office, previously Jennings & Company, which he co-founded in 1990. Under his direction, the office enjoyed steady staff and revenue growth with such clients as Sun Microsystems, MP3.com, Adobe, Red Brick, Seagate, and Visa International.
Before Jennings & Company, Greg was West Coast bureau chief for PC Week. He began his career in 1980 as a reporter covering the computer industry for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner.

 

Amir Zoufonoun, Chief Executive Officer, Exalt Communications
Amir Zoufonoun founded Exalt Communications in August 2004 and has served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors since inception.   A senior executive with a stellar track record of market success, Amir has over 25 years of experience in the wireless networking industry, including 13 years at Western Multiplex.  Most recently serving as its president and chief operating officer, Amir was the founder, visionary, and executive product champion behind the development and introduction of numerous successful new wireless categories and extensions, with an installed base of over 150,000 carrier class systems worldwide.  Under Amir’s leadership, these market successes led to significant periods of profitable growth, multiple mergers and acquisitions, and a successful IPO.  Prior to Western Multiplex, Amir spent 10 years at Harris and Farinon in various management and engineering positions focused on delivering carrier class, fixed and portable wireless systems for voice, data, and video transmission.   Amir holds a BS and MS degrees, both in electrical engineering, and is an SEP graduate of Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

 

Ray Wizbowski, Vice President Marketing, ForeScout Technologies
Ray brings over 10 years of experience in strategic development and marketing of high tech organizations. Prior to ForeScout, Ray held senior business development and marketing positions at MetiLinx, Positio Investor and Public Relations, and Action Foundation. In the course of his career, Ray has provided strategic counsel for several multinational companies including, Canon USA, Mitsubishi Electronics, Motorola and Silicon Valley Group (acquired by ASML). In business development roles, Ray has built partnership frameworks which included such companies as Microsoft, Nokia, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems, and VMWare.

 

Marcus Birkl, Vice President Sales HiPath Wireless LAN, Siemens Enterprise Communications
Marcus Birkl has been Vice President and Head of Sales for HiPath Wireless at Siemens Enterprise Communications since July 2005. In this position, he is responsible for the worldwide sales of wireless solutions at the company. He began his career at Siemens in 1997 as the Product Manager for the Hicom 300 E communications system. He later handled the worldwide market launch of the HiPath 4000 and took on global responsibility for communications systems for small enterprises. Birkl holds a degree in mathematics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

 

Todd Thiemann, director for device security marketing, Trend Micro 
Todd Thiemann, director for device security marketing, has been with Trend Micro for over three years. Todd is responsible for global marketing of Trend Micro’s products and technologies designed to protect mobile devices. Prior to his current role, Todd was Trend Micro’s director of marketing for Latin America where he helped make the Latin American Region one of Trend Micro’s fastest growing business units. Before joining Trend Micro, Todd worked in a variety of management positions in Hewlett Packard Company’s Enterprise Systems Group. Todd graduated from Georgetown University with a BS degree and went on to earn an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

 

Jean-Yves Chevallier, Director, Product Marketing, Emulex Corporation
Jean-Yves Chevallier is Director for Software Marketing at Emulex Corporation, a 25-year old technology company specializing in the design and development of industry-leading storage networking connectivity solutions.  Jean-Yves is responsible for all non-Windows drivers (Linux, Solaris, other UNIX, VMware) as well as a number of advanced projects including server and fabric virtualization. He has had a major role in making Emulex the premier fibre channel connectivity supplier of the Open Source Linux community, and in forging direct relationships with a number of leading technology users in the financial, telecommunications and other industries.
Prior to joining Emulex in 2003, Jean-Yves has held a number of marketing and engineering positions over 18 years at Bull Information Systems, including a stint as head of Bull’s mainframe I/O engineering. He also served as Director of Marketing for several Linux and network-storage based technology startups.
Jean-Yves holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the French Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, and an MBA from the Wharton School.

 

Alan Shimel, Chief Strategy Officer, StillSecure
As Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at StillSecure, Alan Shimel is responsible for helping to shape and develop the company’s business and technology strategy and direction. In this role he serves as a primary interface and evangelist with partners, customers, peers, as well as the press and analyst communities. Additionally, Alan is responsible for StillSecure’s participation in major industry initiatives such as the Trusted Computing Group, which develops and promotes open specifications, and OS2A, a vendor-neutral consortium for open source vulnerability scans.
Prior to joining StillSecure, Alan held various business and technology roles at several successful companies including Cachier, Interliant, and Tri Star Web. Most recently he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Cachier, a manufacturer of network acceleration appliances. Before that, Alan was Vice President of Business Development of Interliant, where he built strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Dell Computer, Verisign, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco and EMC. He also played an instrumental role during the company’s acquisition of 27 companies, culminating in a successful IPO.
Alan has participated in the Internet industry from its inception, having co-founded Tri Star Web, an early participant in web hosting. At Tri Star Web he led development of the Web Host Guild, an industry consortium for web hosting players. After building Tri Star Web to a multi-million dollar revenue run rate, he sold it to Sage Networks, which later became Interliant.
Alan is a graduate of St. Johns University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics. He also holds a JD degree from NY Law School.

 

Gregory Toto, VP Product Management, BigFix
Gregory Toto brings more than 19 years of product development and engineering executive management experience to BigFix, where he serves as the company's vice president of product management, driving all aspects of product strategy and direction. Prior to joining BigFix, Toto served as vice president of engineering for HopeLink Corporation, an Internet healthcare application service provider, where he led product development, and technical operations, and managed the company's intellectual property strategy. Before joining HopeLink, Toto led engineering and technical operations for KiraCom Corporation. Earlier in his career, Toto managed software development and engineering projects for a number of large enterprises including Palm, Apple Computer and Gynecare/Johnson & Johnson.
Toto is the co-inventor of three patents in control automation.

 

Chong-Jin Koh, Founder and CEO, Nuvoiz
A native of Malaysia, Koh moved to the United States when he was 18 years-old to study computer science and law at San Jose State University and the University of California at Berkeley.  Immediately, he also started to fulfill his dream of becoming an entrepreneur pursuing both tracks simultaneously. Since that time, Koh has launched three Internet-based companies that have worked to successfully capitalize on emerging technology trends.
Koh's first start-up, where he also held the title of CTO, was AuthorsDen.com, an Internet content publishing, commerce, and community website.  Koh directed the introduction of the AuthorsDen Publishing Platform and subscription based premium services.  Koh then launched 1me.jp, one of the first community-oriented online storage services leveraging broadband in Japan.  The project later became part of ShareSpace, an on-demand enterprise collaboration software company. Since that time,  ShareSpace has been acquired by Asahi Net, a leading Japanese Internet Service Provider.
Nuvoiz is Koh's third technology venture.  Founded in 2003 and based in Silicon Valley, the company is developing software technology and products for VoIP over WiFi on handsets based on open standards. Koh has also lectured at the graduate level on entrepreneurship and technology at Tokyo University and Keio University.  Currently, he resides in Northern California.
